Our first overnight stay on our CA road trip, once we got on the PCH, was in Monterey Bay at the Monterey Plaza Hotel & Spa. It was a gorgeous hotel, but totally not necessary for the amount of time we spent there since we arrived so late. Still, it was really nice and in a great location.
